Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum

Injuries arising from acts of violence or aggression are the second-most common injury type among continuing care workers. Learn how to prevent and de-escalate potentially violent situations in the workplace, and how you can protect yourself in the event of a behavioural crisis with the Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum core classroom course. This 8-hour session is led by an expert health care facilitator. The session builds on concepts covered in the Health Employers Association of BC's (HEABC) 8 e-learning modules, providing you with the opportunity to practice and apply your knowledge in various scenarios.

Please note: the HEABC 8 e-learning modules are prerequisites for this course. E-learning modules 1-8 must be completed prior to taking part in the 8-hour, in-class component of the course.

If you have any questions or you require assistance with registration, please contact or call the Programs and Events Coordinator for SafeCare BC, Marjahn O'Connor, at 604.630.5572 ext. 242.

Thank you.

*Note: SafeCare BC offers an extensive range of educational programs. Periodically, we must cancel sessions due to low enrolment as each of our workshops require minimum registration levels. If minimum registration levels are not reached by the two-week mark, the course will be postponed. Please ensure you register as soon as possible so we can confirm the course will run as scheduled.
