Overview:

SafeCare BC is pleased to present a training opportunity for current and prospective facilitators interested in contracting through SafeCare BC to expand training capacity within the continuing care sector.

This two day LPN Leadership Facilitator Education workshop will provide participants with the qualifications to facilitate the 8-hour LPN Leadership Training course. The workshop was developed by an accomplished education consultant who will use day one to facilitate the LPN Leadership Training curriculum from 8:30am until 4:30pm, followed by an hour of debrief and observations. Day two (8:30-4:30pm) will include general facilitation skills training (1/2 a day) for existing and prospective SafeCare BC facilitators and practice time with feedback specifically for LPN Leadership Facilitator Education participants (1/2 a day). Following workshop completion, participants’ first facilitated LPN Leadership Training course will be mentored by SafeCare BC.

LPN Leadership Training provides practical, hands-on tools for LPNs to use in the context of their roles as safety leaders in the continuing care sector. The LPN Leadership Training course supports participants to promote and develop a culture of workplace health and safety. Course content includes interactive and engaging material, practical scenarios to promote critical thinking, and problem solving through adult learning principles.

Intended Audience: Current or prospective facilitators with experience in the continuing care sector who have facilitation/teaching skill and a passion for health and safety.

Prerequisites:

A pre-workshop survey will be emailed to participants at least three weeks prior to the workshop. The education consultant will tailor workshop material to meet participant need. Survey completion is mandatory for all participants.
Pre-readings will be emailed to participants two weeks prior to the session date.
Participants must attend the entire 16-hour workshop (over two days) to earn a certificate.

Cost:

Day 1 training for the LPN Leadership Facilitator Education training is $100. Participants will be automatically enrolled to attend the free General Facilitation Skills Education workshop on day 2. Lunch is included.
