Musculoskeletal injuries make up the highest percentage of injuries in the continuing care sector.

Course Description

In Safe Resident Handling, you will receive best-practice training for safe handling and musculoskeletal injury prevention designed specifically for long-term care staff.

This one-day course includes a blend of theory, scenario-based learning, and hands-on practice. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about safe handling techniques and tools, and apply that knowledge in a supportive, small group environment.

Intended Audience:

Long-term care workers who provide direct resident care, including care aides, LPNs, and RNs
Supervisors who work with those who provide direct resident care, and who would like to understand what safe work practices look like
Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee members who want to learn more about current best-practices in safe handling
