Creating Connections: Working with People with Dementia

**Please note: the course starts at 9:00AM, but please arrive early as registration begins at 8:30AM**

Overview:

In Creating Connections: Working with People with Dementia, you will:

  • Better understand Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia
  • Receive key tips for communication
  • Learn how to be creative in dealing with some of the behaviours common among persons with dementia

The information will be presented within the context of “person-centred care”. Through lecture, interactive discussion, and video clips, you will gain the tools to feel safe as a caregiver and gain confidence in providing the best care possible.

Goals of Training:

This course is intended to provide core care training for dementia, including how dementia impacts people physically, mentally, and socially.
